11 October has been a key global moment to celebrate the power of girls and highlight the barriers they face since the United Nations adopted it as International Day of the Girl in December 2011.
According to un.org, the world is home to more than 1.1 billion girls under age 18, who are poised to become the largest generation of female leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers the world has ever seen.
Did you know?
The Global Girls Takeover Day
Each year, hundreds of girls around the globe step into the roles of media, entertainment, business, and politics for a day to demand equal power, freedom, and representation for girls and young women.
Through the #GirlsTakeover, girls occupy spaces where they are rarely seen or heard and making it clear they have the right to be there without being silenced or ignored.
This year, we're joining Plan International's Girls Takeover Day
Equality Check has partnered with Plan International Norge. Together, they have invited various companies in Norway to join the Girls Takeover Campaign. Companies including Visma, KPMG, Coop, and Vipps will participate. Their participation includes having a young girl takeover as the leader of the company for a day. She will bring her unique insights while gaining experience as a leader.
The girl will present Equality Check findings to top management. She will offer suggestions on how the company can improve depending on their Equality Check results. If you think your workplace would like to join the Girls Takeover campaign, send us an email at hello@equalitycheck.it with the subject: Girls Takeover.
